Have you recently purchased an old gun, only to find it full of cosmoline and other gunk? As a part of the historic firearms collection community, Chimney Creek also offers gun cleaning and restoration services. I am a licensed type 7 FFL and have worked on a variety of military surplus style rifles and handguns. Cleaning includes complete disassembly of the firearm to ensure thorough cleaning of all parts. Price for cleaning is $25/ hour.

I also offer historically-accurate Mosin-Nagant restoration. Often times these rifles have old shellac finish that is flaking off in huge chunks and not very appealing to the eye or to grip. The process involves completely stripping the old shellac, extracting as much oil/dirt/grime from the wood as possible, and then re-oiling wood. A Garnet Red shellac is then applied to give the rifle the same look it did "back in the day". It really does make the rifle look decades younger.  Price for this restoration job is $150, or $130 if you have more than one rifle.
